Good Morning Everybody!

Welcome to June. Sigh. I know. Thinking about how wonderful this week would have been if we had spent it together in the classroom brings me down. This is why I study the great thinkers, especially those who study and experience rapid change. Immediate change. Everyday change. Sustained change. Adapt now or suffer long term. I'm talking about the military, and first responders. Every second something new arrives, totally trashing your plans.

Let's examine three types of plans to see what we can do to deal with rapid change. First,
there is Deterministic. This means you wrote out your plan with a schedule, and you tried your best to make it work. This school year, up until March 13, would be an example of that.

Next, we have problematic,
where many obstacles, sometimes predictably, interrupting the plan. Problems demand solutions, which means you need to adapt yourself, your plan, or both. Thankfully, you're able to learn, to grow, to meet the problem directly, because you are young and strong.

Lastly, Stochastic plans, consisting of random, unpredictable events, provide life's greatest challenges. Car accidents are classic example. Dealing with these calls for special people with special talents.

I'll close by saying this, yes, you are allowed your feelings. Acknowledge them. Stare them in the face and say you will not defeat me. Not today. Not ever. I am more than just feelings. I am a purpose driven, talented human. Then, get to work like your life depends on it, because it does. Create rather
than destroy. Build your castle. You'll look back decades from now, with a smile on your face.

Thanks for listening. Remember, you can reach me anytime through email and the journal. I'm right here with you, working every day, for a better tomorrow.
